McLeod tops Big Sandy in regional quarterfinals, Muenster in regional semi-finals

vs. Big Sandy

The McLeod Longhorns varsity boys’ basketball team continued its historic march after beating Big Sandy, 49-37, in the regional quarterfinals and Muenster, 53-46, in the regional semi-final round last week.

The game was close in the first half with Big Sandy taking a, 22-20, lead into halftime but a, 29-15, run in the second put the game away for McLeod.

Trevor Dell posted 12 points and 14 boards, Casey Smith added 10 points, Kobe Bonner had seven and Keldyn Schubert six.

vs. Muenster

The first half was a tight affair as Muenster posted a, 12-11, lead and held on to a, 23-19, lead at the break.

The Longhorns (35-2) went on a, 34-23, run in the second half to seal the victory.

Keldyn Schubert recorded 29 points with eight assists, Kobe Bonner added nine points and Trevor Dell had eight with 10 rebounds.
