Lion’s Club meets

Lion’s Club of Linden met on Thursday, Feb. 27 with a packed house. The special guest speaker was Barry Jackson is the Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America troop in Linden. Jackson shared with the group all of the wonderfully fun and important skills the Scouts learn, the trips they attend, and answered many questions.

One such question was in regards to the allowing of girls to join Scouts. Jackson said of this that it has been wonderful to be able to include girls in the learning of the many important skills Scouts teach its members. He even stated that the female members can be very competitive which can encourage all members to do their very best to achieve the goals set forth by the Scouts. The troop in Linden meets in the original Troop 39 building. Jackson said the building is rich with the history of the original troop, with awards, pictures, and banners hung throughout.
