Queen City forensics students make an “impression”

Queen City High School students in Forensics class have been comparing impression evidence collected at a simulated crime scene with the known impression this week.
They created footprints in sand and made plaster cast molds of the footprints by spraying the impression with hairspray to keep the sand in place and the impression in tact.
Then students prepared the plaster of paris mixture, poured it over the foot impression and let it dry overnight.
The next day in class, students lifted the cast impression and cleaned it for comparison to the actual shoe that left the impression.
