For those who work as an EMT, firefighter, or are in law enforcement, every shift has the potential to be life-changing. Accidents can and do occur, and there is always the threat of being harmed by someone who bears them ill will. When the unthinkable happens, time can literally mean the difference between life and death.
That is why, on Feb. 22, the first Protect the Thin Blue Line Benefit 5K Walk/Run was hosted in downtown Atlanta by Garon “Stumpy” Dupree.
The benefit is Dupree’s Eagle Scout Project and proceeds will go towards buying personal trauma kits for departments that otherwise could not afford them. Dupree is a high schooler at Atlanta ISD.
