Atlanta
Feb. 4, the Atlanta varsity boys’ basketball squad topped rival Queen City, 81-33.
Daimion Collins had 20 points, Alex Boston 16, Keyshawn Easter 14, Kameron Dickerson 10, Caleb Hamilton six and JJ Fields six.
Feb. 7, the Rabbs thumped Redwater, 87-25, on Senior Night.
Hunter Allen, who had missed some playing time with an injury, posted a game-high 27 points with four boards, five steals and five assists; Daimion Collins added 11 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks;
Kameron Dickerson had 11 points, Keyshawn Easter 10, JJ Fields eight, Alex Boston seven, Terunte Neal seven and Caleb Hamilton six.
Atlanta Middle School
Atlanta’s middle school basketball program took on Hooks last week.
In the seventh grade A game Rowe scored a team-high 14 points, Austin added 13, Baton had 13 and Kinney had six.
In the eighth grade A game Dim Limbrick posted 18 points, Larandion Dowden had 15 points, Will Wilcox had eight, Eli Riojas five, Andrew Boston five and LA Andrews four.
In the eighth grade B game Black scored a team-high nine points, Woodruff added six, Tatum five and Henderson four.
McLeod
Feb. 4, McLeod’s varsity boys’ team rolled past James Bowie, 47-19, and improved its season record to (27-2, 8-0).
Trevor Deel had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Kobe Bonner added nine points and Nos Gryder had six points.
In the JV contest McLeod prevailed, 37-15, with Gabe Groves scoring eight points.
Feb. 7, McLeod’s varsity boys’ basketball team zipped past Rivercrest, 55-30.
Trevor Deel posted 21 points with 20 rebounds and Keldyn Schubert had 17 points for the Longhorns (28-2, 8-0).
McLeod’s varsity girls’ team beat James Bowie, 62-31, Feb. 4.
Sibbie Comer was in beast mode as she ripped the nets for 22 points and had eight rebounds, Kaitlyn Cross added 15 points, Cary May had eight and Gracie Lance seven.
Feb. 7, the Lady Longhorns beat Rivrecrest, 49-33.
Kaitlyn Cross poured in 17 points, Sibbie comer added 12 and Gracie Lance had nine points.
In the JV game McLeod won, 28-23, with Chassie Gryder scoring 16 points.
McLeod Jr. High
McLeod’s junior high boys finished their second consecutive undefeated district championship basketball season with a, 30-17, win over James Bowie.
Kannon Dempsey posted 13 points with 15 rebounds and Parker Patrick recorded 12 points with 15 rebounds.
M.U.M.S.
Last week the Queen City Middle School girls’ basketball program hosted Hooks.
The seventh grade A team won, 29-15, with LaTerika Jackson scoring 17 points and both Brenna Turbeville and Ruby McCasland chipped in four points apiece.
In the eighth grade A game QC won, 46-29, with Lauren Carrell leading the way with 15 points and both Mallori Stringer and Serenity Oden scoring 11 apiece.
