What makes America great?

What makes America great? The question has a simple yet powerful answer. Our freedom! In my opinion, America has the most freedom out of all other countries. Our independence is the result of many brave men and women serving our country so we can be free, and make our own choices. What other country can say that? We choose our schools, churches, and more. Not all countries are allowed to choose these things, so I am more than thankful for our freedom. Imagine an America that decided that freedom was overrated. Where would be? Would we end up like some of the countries that are poor and helpless? Thankfully, we signed the Declaration of Independence, and now, America is great because of it. Our military is the reason for our freedom and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Each and every branch of the U.S. military has worked and died to make America great. I wish that I could tell them that they’re dedication and sacrifice has paid off. My great uncle served in the army as a medic when they stormed Normandy beach, and every time I think of him, I think of the sacrifice he made for us. For me. My uncle’s not the last of it either. I’m sure you know someone that served. You know they were dedicated and loyal. This is why we have the freedom that makes America great. It’s amazing how people, regular people armed with only a weapon and a whole lot of hope, can get others a freedom so priceless. America’s not perfect, though I suppose nothing is. All that imperfection comes with something so valuable, so priceless that brave men and women laid down their lives for us to achieve it. Freedom. No other country has grasped it like we have. So I hope that answers the question “What makes America Great”, because the answer, is freedom.
