Cass County Relay for Life holds meeting

Several people met to plan for this year’s Cass County Relay for Life’s event entitled “Carnival of Hope”. The first meeting took place on Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. in Christus St. Michael Atlanta in the cafeteria. The event will take place this year Saturday, April 4, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Downtown Atlanta.

Sponsorships are available, please contact Lesia for sponsorship information. Please text her first at 910-229-7045. The deadline to sign up to get names on the shirt is March 4. They will be doing a Silent Auction at the Relay and also at the Cass County Championship Rodeo in April. If you have anything that you would like to donate for the silent auction, please let them know.

They are still needing teams, it is a $100 per person on each team for your team to receive shirts. Relay link to sign your team up is RelayForLife.org/CassTx. The deadline to sign up to receive shirts is March 11.

Atlanta Citizens Journal will start the second week of February publishing articles of interviews with cancer survivors all the way up to the Relay event. If you are a survivor that would like to share their story, please email shawn@casscountynow.com.

On Feb. 16, Laws Chapel Church will be hosting a “Sweetheart Spaghetti Dinner” as a fundraiser for the relay.

Cancer Survivors Relay will host a “Survivor Brunch” before Relay every year for our cancer survivors, by our Atlanta Women’s Club. More details will come as the event gets closer.

The next Relay meeting is Monday, February 17 at 6:00 p.m. in Christus St. Michael Atlanta Cafeteria
