M.U.M.S. teams compete in Math and Science Meet at Hallsville

Students from Morris Upchurch Middle School competed in the Math and Science Meet at Hallsville Junior High Dec. 7. The teams from M.U.M.S. finished third overall.

The Number Sense team placed second overall. Individually, sixth grader Makenna Hamilton placed seventh; seventh graders Vincent Wong and Laynee Robison placed fourth and eighth respectively; and eighth graders Aidan Hamilton, Micah Whittington and LaJavion Martin placed second, third and eighth respectively.

The Calculator team paced fifth overall. Individually, sixth graders Elizabeth Bickham and Makenna Hamilton placed fifth and eighth respectively; and seventh grader Vincent Wong placed sixth.

The General Math team placed third overall. Individually, sixth grader Adalyn Tyson placed fifth; seventh grader Vincent Wong placed seventh; and eighth graders Micah Whittington and Aidan Hamilton placed seventh and eighth.

The Science team placed first overall. Individually, sixth graders Hailey Geralds, Elizabeth Bickham and Adalyn Tyson placed first, third and sixth respectively; seventh grader Vincent Wong placed second; and eighth graders Brooklinn Beers, Luke Moore, Micah Whittington and Jeremiah Henderson placed first, third, ninth and 10th respectively.
