Investigator loses battle with cancer

Alan “Hoss” Powell lost his battle to an aggressive, rare cancer, primary thymic carcinoma on Dec. 21. Hoss had been employed by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department for 26 years. He was also a major part of the backbone of Five D Cattle Co. since before they opened in 1997. Avinger United Methodist Church announced Sunday, the memorial service is pending.
