Big Bird Turkey Shoot & Chili Cook-off
The 21st Annual Big Bird Turkey Shoot & Chili Cookoff will be Saturday, Nov. 23, in Linden. Chili cooking starts at 7 a.m.; Turkey shooting starts at 10 a.m. with 12 & 20 gauge shells provided. Pistol and open rounds with shooter providing shells will also be available. Call 903-244-1935 for more information. From Linden, go West on Hwy 155, take first left on CR 1617. Big Bird Turkey Shoot is 4.3 miles on the right. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Prescribed Burn
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. will conduct a prescribed burn sometime between December 2019 and April 2020 on Atlanta State Park. For additional information, call 903-796-6476.
