Queen City seventh grade football team claims championship
The Queen City Bulldogs’ junior high football teams completed their 2019 football season last week on the road at Pewitt.
Seventh Grade
Queen City was one of the smallest groups in the district but played with the biggest hearts. The seventh grade posted a 7-1 record on the season, with its only loss coming to Pewitt, 20-12.
Queen City outscored its opponents 152-52 on the year. Even with the loss the seventh grade team still claimed the title of 2019 District 11-3A District Champions.
“I just wanted to say that I am very proud of these young men for all of their hard work,” Head Coach Tommy Kimble said.
Eighth Grade
The eighth grade team ended its season beating Pewitt, 46-6. They showed up and showed out in the last game as well as they played extremely hard this year. QC had a few ups and downs throughout the year, while also trying to keep everyone healthy.
The eighth graders finished the season with a 4-4 record and respectively they played well as a family. “We saw some good things throughout the year and can’t wait to see what they will bring next year to the high school level,” Kimble said. “Overall for both groups we are looking forward to seeing great things from each of these young men in the years ahead. I’m proud to say, ‘It’s a Great Day to be a Bulldog’.”
