L-K wraps up XC season, girls headed to regionals
Linden-Kildare cross country runners from the junior high, junior varsity and high school levels placed in the Top 10 at the district meet recently.
Coach Carla Hines had this to say about the effort.
“Our junior high runners have a very promising future ahead of them. The varsity Lady Tigers’ team advanced to regionals which will be held at the Jesse Owens Memorial Complex on Oct.28. These ladies have improved over the course of the season and it definitely paid off. In the varsity boys’ division, both runners competed well with Michael Lane dropping his time over a minute and DeAndrey Samuel running his fastest time of all season.”
The results were as follows: the junior high girls’ team placed fourth overall with Madi Bynum placing eighth, Cayton Osborne 10th, Zoey Love 27th, Kenzie Mitchell 34th, Sophia Hampton 35th and Clarissa Peterson 37th.
The junior high boys’ team placed third overall with Ja’Kyric Nard placing 12th, Rylan Roberts 19th, Logan Grandmaison 26th, Nic Lane 37th, Max Belford 38th, Cadin Johnson 41st, Wesley Stanley 42nd and John George 43rd.
For the junior varsity boys Dedtrick Swain placed seventh overall, for the varsity boys Michael Lane finished 20th and DeAndrey Samuel 26th and the varsity girls’ team placed second overall with Kailon Carnley placing third, Peyton Turner fifth, Angelyna Meggs 12th, Kaitlyn Small 15th, Hailey Lane 16th and Alayna Mason 17th.
