AMS BLAST celebrates White Cane Awareness Day

Atlanta Middle School BLAST celebrates White Cane Awareness Day The National Federation of the Blind celebrates White Cane Awareness Day every year on October 15.
Mayor Travis Ransom read the proclamation where it officially declared it White Cane Day in Atlanta.
For blind people, the white cane is an essential tool that gives blind people the ability to achieve a full and independent life.
It allows them to move freely and safely from place to place—whether it’s at work, at school, or around our neighborhoods.
BLAST students engaged in activities that helped them understand what’s its like to be blind.
Blind rapper Kazzie Kirk and Mayor Travis Ransom did a question and answer session with the BLAST students.
