Queen City students receive “Good Citizen” awards

Members of the American Legion were on campus Thursday, Oct. 2, to present “Good Citizen” Awards to Grace Peterson and Jayley Stringer for attending Bluebonnet Girls State this summer. Girls State delegates are a diverse group of young women with a shared desire to learn and lead. ALA Girls State “citizens” come together from small towns, big cities, and rural areas to hold ALA Girls State elections, and their varied backgrounds set the stage for a week of spirited, experiential learning. Grace and Jayley will be attending a recognition banquet at the American Legion on Oct. 14.
