McLeod teacher, family killed in fatal accident
Jessica Baig, a McLeod ISD Elementary teacher, was killed on Saturday when her car was struck by an oncoming vehicle. According to preliminary ASP report, the cars were on AR 41 when a northbound vehicle driven by Justin Williams, 25 of Taylor, TX crossed the center line and struck the front of the vehicle driven by Jessica.
Also killed were Baig’s husband, Mirza Baig and their young daughter. A second daughter, also traveling in Baig’s vehicle, was injured and sent to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Our hearts are grieving for the members of the Baig family. This family will remain at the forefront of our thoughts and prayers.
McLeod ISD will make local ministers and counselors available to anyone in their school community. These ministers and counselors have been assigned to the elementary and middle schools, but will remain in place for as long as needed and will offer their support to any of the district’s students and staff members.
As a community, we ask you to extend your love and support to the Baig family. This unthinkable tragedy impacts our community as a whole, including those at Mc-Leod ISD who cared deeply for Jessica and her family. Please continue to lift Jessica Baig’s family and her surviving daughter in your thoughts and prayers.
