Salazars awarded flag certificate

Mark Epperson Chapter United States Daughters of 1812 presented a flag certificate to Terry and Joy Salazar of Linden in appreciation for their proper flying and maintaining of the American Flag.

Although neither is a military veteran, their extended family includes a number of men who are veterans or current military men. One son served in the Air Force; one son recently retired from the Army. Joy’s brother is retired from the Air Force. Terry’s brother-in-law retired from the Army, and two of Terry’s nephews now serve in the Marines and Air Force.

Terry and Joy moved to Linden from Arizona and have quickly become valued members of the community. Their patriotism is proudly displayed by the Flag that flies beside their house each day of clement weather.
