National Night Out set for Oct. 1
National Night Out will be Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m at the Cass County Law Enforcement and Justice Center at 604 Hwy 8 North, in Linden.
National Night Out began more than thirty years ago to help bring law enforcement and communities together. National Night Out was started in 1984. This year’s event will be hosted by the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Barbara McMillon.
Her staff along with the help of other community organizations are organizing it again this year.
Various organizations will be involved in this year’s event.
The following is list of the multiple organizations that will be at National Night Out: Texas Department of Transportation, Cass County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1/Linden Municipal Court, Christus St. Michael Health System, Cass County Sheriff, Linden Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Forestry Service, Champion EMS, Texas Department of State Health Services, Texana Bank, Cass County Domestic Violence, Linden Economic Development, Linden Fire Department, County Extension Office, Linden Chamber of Commerce, Linden Main Street, Douglassville Fire Department, Focus Care, Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA), Texas Parks & Wildlife, Atlanta Fire Department, Avinger Fire Department and County Government.
According to Jamie Albertson, from the Cass County District Court, “Because of the generosity of our sponsors, Crump’s, Jerry Berry Plumbing, Reeder Davis Funeral Home, State Bank, County Seat Café, Focus Care, BB Boon Insurance, Randy Penny, Corbett’s Catfish and More, this event is free to the public.
There will be hot dogs, popcorn drinks, Smokey the Bear, police cars, fire trucks, a bounce house and much more!
