Jennifer Lance named employee of the month

Editors Note: We have reached out to our area schools giving each an opportunity for their superintendent to have a monthly column in the newspaper. I want to thank Cathy May for being the first one to write. I am hoping all of our area Cass County Schools will send us a column.

My selection of an employee of the month comes from a variety of departments—mostly those who serve us on a district wide basis. Therefore, I have a range of employees to consider—and my list is full of amazing potential! We have awesome folks in our custodial department, maintenance department, and office staff! And the choice is not easy!

However, we happen to be in the company of the Region 8 High School Principal of the Year! Choosing Jennifer Lance for our first month was an easy selection because she has the stamp of approval from so many! Mrs. Lance loves her students and her staff. She advocates for all of you all at every turn! She is knowledgeable and knows how to get things done. I often look to Jennifer to help me brainstorm solutions and to be my voice of reason if I believe I am letting my emotions carry me! She not only is a great leader for the high school campus, but she works tirelessly on curriculum for the entire district. She definitely has a ‘whole district’ mentality.

Thank you Jennifer, for working so hard for your high school campus and for our district! Jennifer will enjoy lunch off campus tomorrow along with other employees of the month chosen by the principals.
