Wolfe joins Chamber as manager

If you have been to virtually any community event there is a good chance that you have seen Kendell Wolfe. Wolfe is the young, blonde hair gentleman with a smile on his face, and an interest in anything Atlanta. There is no doubt that he will bring that same enthusiasm as the new communication manager for the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

Wolfe’s first day was Aug. 20. Since then he has been adjusting himself to this new role. For Wolfe however, being a part of the chamber isn’t anything new to him. “I had been volunteering on the Chamber Board of Directors for about a year, which is how I came to really understand all the ways our Chamber positively impacts our communities. I have a growing passion for community development and when the position became available, the opportunity to serve my Chamber as a staff member was really intriguing to me!” said Wolfe.

“As a Board Member, I became aware of the opening when Aaron Whitehead gave his two weeks’ notice. After really thinking it over, I decided to submit my resume. I love the Chamber and our community and the idea honestly seemed more and more like a way to pursue my passion for service,” continued Wolfe.

Wolfe will be taking over the role of Communication Manager, from the fun community-oriented guy, Aaron Whitehead, who has been at the position for the past three-plus years.

According to Wolfe, “his basic duties are communications with the Chamber Members and with the Community on behalf of our members. One of my favorite responsibilities is working as sort of a member liaison, where I get to build relationships with our members and be truly in the mix with our local business community.”

“Still adjusting and trying to learn the ropes,” says Wolfe, but my ultimate goal is to grow the Chamber by spreading awareness of our services and staying up to date with business trends so we can benefit our members as much as possible.”

Wolfe is really excited for the opportunity to serve the community, “I view this new position as an amazing opportunity and a dream job really. I am an active volunteer, but being an official staff member just enables me to serve in a greater capacity!”

Wolfe he says he loves living and working in Atlanta because it gives me the opportunity to see the same faces that I grew up within new roles and positions that make positive impacts on our hometown. Longtime friends and new connections make me happy.”

“Being a small-town Chamber in rural America involves many challenges,” says Wolfe, “but our locals are passionate and enthusiasm is contagious. I believe in the Chamber and the communities we represent and I just want to help tell our story and get as many people involved as I can.”

When asked about his predecessor Aaron, who left his mark with the crazy videos and excitement he generated, Wolfe said, “Aaron was definitely a talent and did a lot for the Chamber, but I am so honored to accept the baton and put my own spin on things. I truly love people and building relationships. I am looking forward to finding creative ways to showcase the talents of our amazing members!” Wolf was silent about whether or not he would be wearing Aaron’s wigs in future promo videos, guess that would be a no…

Miranda Johnson the director of the chamber is excited to have Wolfe on board, “ The hiring committee recognized that Kendell has a heart for building community and a good understanding of the Chamber’s role in economic growth and community development.”

“He is also well-connected around town and will be a strong liaison between our members and the Chamber. He is eager to learn and make a difference and we have high expectations for him as a Chamber asset!”
