QC kicks off year with District Convocation

Queen City ISD teachers and staff were welcomed back with a bang at the District Convocation.

As the Band of Champions played, the staff was greeted with hugs and smiles from football players, cheerleaders and volleyball players.

Upon entering Morris Upchurch Middle School, employees were showered with appreciation gifts, had staff pictures taken and enjoyed a delicious breakfast provided by First Baptist Church of Queen City. Cass County Bank, Cass County Retired Teachers, and Horace Mann representative, Jason Rawls were in attendance handing out lunch boxes and other treats.

Todd Hervey, pastor at the Circle J Cowboy Church in Texarkana, shared an inspiring message, Carolyn Lance of the Cass County Retired Teachers Association informed teachers about some legislative changes out of Austin and Jason Rawls shared some financial wisdom while door prizes from area businesses kept the mood festive.
