WATER TOWER WILL SHINE

Foundation reaches goal

The “Let Linden Shine” Steering Committee announced through the contributions of numerous individuals, businesses, and organizations, the Linden community has achieved the goal of raising $32,000 to install a color kinetic lighting system on the 1934 Linden Water Tower.

Donations are still being accepted with the understanding that the amount exceeding the cost will be donated to the City of Linden for maintenance and operation of the lights.

“Let Linden Shine” will host a donor appreciation and celebratory gala at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 24 at Music City Texas. This special evening will celebrate the history and future of Linden as well as its citizens past and present.

In the beautiful, historic, candlelit Music City Texas Theater, a lovely dinner will be served followed by donor recognition and entertainment arranged by Richard Bowden.

Donors of $1000 or more will have reserved tables for eight while individual tickets ae $25 and may be purchased in advance at Linden City Hall. No tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, please contact Sandra Westbrook Skoog at sandra.skoog@lindenheritage.org.

The project to light up the historic water tower was spearheaded by the Linden Heritage Foundation and in partnership with Linden’s Main Street, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, and Lions Club. According to the Linden Heritage foundation’s website, “Let Linden Shine” is a mission and a movement to illuminate the historic 1934 Linden Water Tower with a color kinetic lighting system.
