Genealogical society to meet Aug. 13

Our special guest speaker will be Dr. Thomas Pressly, a Civil War enthusiast. His subject for our meeting is William Burnham Chilvers, a soldier in the Union Army, who recorded the rampant disease and the horrors of the Civil War battles from 1862 through the end of the war.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and we hope that as many of you as possible will join us for this interesting and informative monthly meeting in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Queen City at the corner of Marietta and Fourth Streets in Queen City.

These meetings are always “FREE”, the public is always welcome, and a dinner and beverages will be served.
