Commissioners Court approves property request from City of Linden
Cass County Commissioners Court voted to approve the property request by the City of Linden to deed the city property close to the Cass County Justice Center for a new water tower to be erected.
The City of Linden is in the progress of a USDA grant and loan to improve the water infrastructure and needed the property for the water tower portion.
Before the vote was taken Commissioner of Precinct 2 Jon Borseth said a few word about the property that the city plans to erect a water tower on.
“I just want to mention I met the sheriff and Mr. Swisher(Linden City Administrator Bob Swisher) at the site the day after we talked about it at the workshop so I could get a view on it instead of looking at a piece of paper,” said Borseth.
“Based on what I learned about it I think it is a good location for it, as far as what I can see and it is going to save the city money and help the county with increasing the water pressure and if there is a break downtown it will not affect us,” explained Borseth.
“If when we decide to expand the jail or build a new one or whatever happens there, we will have the water pressure required to do that without having to go into extra expense,” continued Borseth.
