Locals help with Atlanta Grade School clean up

Ten formers students of Atlanta Grade School, aka Miller Grade, gathered at the school on December 16, 2017.  The goal was to remove the debris and trash that had accumulated due to  Kevin Stingley’s efforts to clean up and restore our school.   With goggles, mask, gloves and hats in place, the former students dove in and it was all relocated to a large dumpster.
At the end of the day, not only had the trash been removed, but many stories had been shared about  the great days at Miller Grade.  Each person could recall their teachers and the rooms they were in, and how it felt to be in such a great school.  All present felt it was a honor to return and give back to a school that gave us so much.
Those present included Kevin Stingley, Danny Stanley, Roger Washington, Barry Stanton, Leigh Stanley, Margaret Fitts, Luana Taylor, Gina Clements, Lisa Sanchez, and Cyndy Chamblee.
More work days are in the plans and the cleaning part of the project continues.  The Board of Directors have a meeting planned for January 4th, 2018 at the home of Jane Barnhill.  The project will be discussed further , as well as  needed fundraising efforts.
