Myrtle Nell Sherman, 90, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at a local nursing home.
She was born July 14, 1927, in Cass County, to Howard and Myrtle Endsley. The youngest daughter, with four siblings, Myrtle Nell was known as “Sister” or “Baby Sister.” She married Marshall Sherman Feb. 4, 1947, and devoted herself to her family and family business until her children were in school. Being an excellent cook, she then used her skills for many years at the Atlanta Memorial Hospital as the dessert cook and was well known for her pies. She always enjoyed working in her yard, caring for her flowers, cooking and needlework. Her grandchildren were paramount in her life. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a founding member of Long Bridge Road Baptist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, Marshall Sherman; and her daughter, Phyllis Mauldin.
She was survived by her son, Charles Neal Sherman and wife Rolita of Atlanta; her son-in-law, Rick Mauldin of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Daniel Sherman and wife Margaret of Spring, Marshall Sherman and wife Jamie of Longview, Katie Harrison and husband Dan of Longview, Luke Mauldin and wife Kristie of Rockwall and Caleb Mauldin of Fort Worth; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 2 p. m. Monday, Oct. 2, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gene Parker and Daniel Sherman officiating. Interment followed at Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

Ortice Allen, 75, of Atlanta, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Golden Villa in Atlanta.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Oct. 7, at Queen City Funeral Home. Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Linden under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home.

Catherine Beal, 74, of Hughes Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.

Alissa Chambers 34, of Ore City, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Interment followed at Harleton Cornerstone Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Ore City.

Syble Christeen Harrell Baldwin, 96, of Daingerfield, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, in Daingerfield
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Lilley's Chapel Church of Christ. Interment followed at Clark Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.
