Calls for new subscribers to begin
From staff reports
Atlanta Citizens Journal and Cass County Sun representatives will soon begin calling local residents about purchasing annual subscriptions to the local newspapers.
A portion of each subscription sold as part of this telephone subscription drive will go toward the Rainbow Room, which helps meet the basic emergency needs of children served by Cass County Child Protective Services with clothing, personal hygiene items and other supplies.
The calls will be made from the offices of Robertson County Publishing, which is where some of the Journal and Sun’s sister newspapers are based.
A little information about Rainbow Room:
The Cass County CPS Board opened the Cass County Rainbow Room at the Atlanta CPS office in May 2009. In 2016 the board opened a “Raindrop Room” at the Linden office. The Raindrop Room serves the same purpose as the Rainbow Room -- it just does not have the same variety of items. The Rainbow/Raindrop Rooms can be accessed by CPS staff only and items are for families CPS is working with in the investigation stage, FBSS (Family Based Safety Services) stage or conservatorship stage. All items in the rooms are new.
Items for the rooms are purchased/obtained with cash, or through donations from church and civic groups and individuals.
