This week, in honor of June and all the beautiful flowers, I am sharing a wonderful recipe from edible flowers that you can pick and pluck. From teas, to salads, or even jelly, wildflowers can be a great unexpected addition to your arsenal of kitchen spices. Grab a basket to go foraging with, and that apron, we are cooking with flower power!

Association is helping revitalize downtown

Charming, beautiful, friendly, and safe have all been used to describe the downtown Atlanta area. Indeed, with its many shops, eateries, and even events, the downtown area is a thriving hub of dining, retail therapy, serving all manner of needs. However, as the saying goes, it takes a village and that village comes in the guise of the Atlanta Downtown Merchants Association.

Atlanta and Queen City senior classes received $500 check donations from Cheryl and Jerry Richardson owners of Richardson “No Bull” Agency and R.V.O.S. Insurance Company May 19. Representatives for Atlanta were Bryan Belk and Cade Fant (bottom photo) and representatives for Queen City were Lexee Whatley, Julia Grogan and Ryan Ricketts (top photo) — shown with Jerry Richardson.

Atlanta Area Rotary Club has been selling tickets for a shopping spree to raise money for their scholarship program. Courtney Shelton won the $500 Brookshire’s shopping spree, which she then donated to Rebecca’s Pantry. Pictured are Rick Grandmaison with Rebecca’s Pantry, Courtney Sheldon, District Attorney, and Jason Rawls, President of the Atlanta Area Rotary Club. The Atlanta Area Rotary Club has given over $125,000 in the last 12 years to area high school graduates. This year $8,500 was awarded to four area seniors.
