Sheriff, Larry Rowe issued a press release September 23 reporting that “on September 29, 2021 around 7:30 p.m. deputies received a call of a shooting on County Road 2355 in the Marietta area of West Cass County at a community center softball complex.”
Atlanta ISD Superintendent Sidney Harrist is honored to announce that Atlanta Elementary School has been named a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education. Atlanta Elementary was nominated for this prestigious award which recognizes the school’s overall academic performance in closing achievement gaps.
As a first line of defense against wildland fires volunteer fire departments play a vital role in the protection of the rural areas of Texas. Cass County ESD #3 enhanced their fleet with a Stewart Stevenson military truck thanks to the Department of Defense Firefighter Property Program that was launched in Texas in 2005 by Texas A&M Forest Service.
September 17th marked the two hundred and thirty fourth anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention. Constitution week is the commemoration of America’s most important document. It is celebrated annually during the week of September 17-23. The United States Constitution stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms, and inalienable rights. This celebration of the Constitution was started by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Some of our local DAR Chapter officers joined me this week as I signed a proclamation designating September 17-23 Constitution week in the City of Atlanta. Chapters of local DAR and Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) are made up of descendants of Patriots who served in the Revolutionary War.
