The Mary Daugherty Senior Citizens Center is open all week for anyone who would like to join the group there for bingo, exercise, crocheting and a meal.
Enon First Missionary Baptist Church celebrates 138 years
Enon First Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta celebrated 138 years recently and held a special church anniversary event. Guest speaker was Rev. Dr. R.E. Ruffin of Hooks. Enon First Missionary Baptist Church was the first black Baptist Church in Atlanta, Texas and was organized in the late 19th Century, about 1885. In the early days of the church, the services were held in a one-room building on Louise Street.
Remembering Sgt. Major Joseph Roquemore
Joseph Adan Roquemore was born in Bivins, Texas, a small east Texas town and graduated from high school at Booker T. Washington High in Atlanta, Texas in 1961.

The Cass County Journal-Sun is excited to announce the addition of a once-amonth section that will feature various happenings going around our community.
