Interview with VanDeaver

Publishers Note: Last week we featured a reprinted interview performed by Garrit Blizzard of The Texas Horn. Since Blizzard is no longer working for the Horn, he has not interviewed Gary VanDeaver. To give both candidates equal opportunity the Journal-Sun sent questions to VanDeaver. Below are his responses. We did not fact-check either interview for accuracy; Chris Spencer or Gary VanDeaver. There will be an additional opportunity coming up this Thursday to learn more about each candidate in a debate at the Truman Arnold Building at the Texarkana College Campus, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Angels are heavenly beings sent from heaven to help humans on earth. They are Gods special messengers. Angels are not equal to God, because they were created by God. He tells angels what to do. Some of their jobs are delivering messages for God, protecting God’s people, helping the thirsty, and praising God’s name.

Motorcyclist Deaths On The Rise In Texas

ATLANTA – When you see a motorcycle on the road, it’s not just a bike – it carries someone’s best friend, someone’s child, someone’s parent, someone’s spouse. Nearly 600 people riding motorcycles were killed in crashes in Texas last year, and more than 2,400 riders were seriously injured. One of those hurt was Al Peterson, a Leander man who almost died last May when another driver turned left in front of him. Peterson was thrown 20 yards from his motorcycle and fractured several ribs, his left leg, pelvis, and suffered severe internal injuries. The crash nearly took him away from his wife and three children.
