The Cass County Economic Development Consortium met again on Wednesday, June 12. The group is comprised of local leaders who have a direct impact on the economic development of Cass County. The group is composed of economic developers, city managers, the County Judge and other city officials who have a vested interest in the growth of the local economy.

Maintenance to the water system left the City of Atlanta without running water Thursday evening for about six hours. On June 6, Atlanta City Manager Danica Porter issued an important public notice regarding conservation in anticipation of a planned repair at the water treatment plant at Graphic Packaging which processes the city water.
At approximately 9 p.m. on Friday June 14, shots rang out in Cass County over the weekend leaving multiple injured and one dead. Initial reports were that there were two gunshot victims, one being shot in the head and the other sustaining gunshot wounds to the chest area. It was later revealed that there was a third gunshot victim and four individuals in total were present at the time of the shooting.
Lantana’s Sweet Talkin Man, aka Carter, is a Tibetan Spaniel. Carter moved to Bivins with three other Tibetan Spaniels and his humans in April, from Katy, TX. He is seven years old, which allows him to compete in the Veteran/ Senior class.
