There will be a gospel singing at the Queen City Methodist Church on Saturday, August 3rd beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will be congregational singing as well as special music by local singers. A sandwich supper with ice cream for dessert will be served.

On Friday, July 12, 2024, TxDOT had a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new State Highway 8 bridge over Lake Wright Patman. According to Texas Department of Transportation officials, it will open to traffic this week.
Children given lifesaving award for actions in saving grandmother

On July 9, the Cass County Peace Officers Association recognized two of its younger citizens by presenting lifesaving awards to two young children, who played a big part in heroically saving their month.
