Assistant City Administrator/City Secretary Megan Kirkland updated the Lions Club today about all of the current activities and projects occurring in the City of Linden.The City of Linden, Linden Lions Club and the Journal-Sun would like congratulate Lion Megan on your recent appointment to her new position.
This week the Atlanta Lions Club heard about the many programs that the Veterans Outreach department at Community HealthCore assists our veterans with. Representing that office are Joy Lowe, Kasi Darragh and Emily Lester (all pictured center). Pictured with them are Lions Judge Travis Ransom, Billy Hensley and Stuart Smith.
In the past two weeks, we have received news of two teachers/coaches who have been accused of having an improper relationship with someone underage. It seems like anymore we can’t go a day without hearing about a pastor, teacher, or someone in a trusted position of authority involved in abuse between them and a minor. There is no doubt some of this abuse has happened in the past, but with the increase of 24-hour news and the internet, one might think that every childcare worker should be listed on the sex registry list.
