• To whom will you bow?

To whom will you bow?

Have any of you ever thought of what we could possibly see if we were given a chance to look into the spirit realm?

If God opened our eyes to it, would we be ready for what we were going to see?

Would our minds be able to process? Would our hearts skip a beat?

Can you imagine the thoughts racing through John’s mind when he was shown many things in the Spirit?

If we were given a chance to see the spirits that God protects us from on a daily basis how would we react?

Ephesians 6:12 says - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

We can’t see the devil looking over our shoulder. We can’t see the snares he places in front of us. We can’t see the demons and evil spirits of every kind waiting around the corner.

Have you ever desired to see the Lord sitting on His throne, high and lifted up? Or to see the clouds open and see Jesus standing at the Father’s right hand?

Have you ever imagined how it would be to see Jesus? To have Him embrace you and say well done my good and faithful servant?

Colossians 1:16 says - For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.

I believe we have all seen things on a small scale whether it’s in a vision, a dream or in real time.

The Lord has revealed things to some of us in different ways.

You know we get up and follow the same routine most days without thinking that there is a battle for our souls raging in the spirit world, a place that is invisible to us.

A battle for our souls, our hearts, our attention, our eternity.

The conflict is real. The consequences of this battle extend beyond death.

Eternal life in Heaven or eternal life in hell? A peaceful existence with no pain or a chaotic existence in a lake of fire.

Will you serve a master of peace and love or serve a master of pain and torment?

To whom will you bow? Satan says, “Bow to me and I’ll give you all you could ever want; power, pleasure, riches, glory. The only hitch is eternal damnation.”

But Jesus says, “Bow to me and I will wipe every tear from your eye. I will take all the pain and suffering away. Your eternity will be peaceful and know that the Father is the owner of power, riches and glory.”

To whom will you bow? Do you remember an instance in the Bible where people were instructed to bow?

There is an account in the book of Daniel where the Babylonians constructed this massive golden statue.

And a commandment went forth that at the time the people of all nations and languages hear the sounds of all kinds of music, that they should all bow down and worship the image.

And what was the consequence of not following that order? A one-way trip to the fiery furnace.

So as the account goes there were three Hebrew boys that said to the king, “we will not bow down to your image”.

This made the king very angry. The Bible says that in his rage and fury he commanded they be brought before him.

Not only did the Hebrew boys not bow to this image the king had set up, but they didn’t bow to any other gods of Babylon in worship either.

What the three Hebrew boys said to the king is one of my favorite rebellion speeches in the Bible.

Daniel 3:16 – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

They addressed him by name and let him know that what they are about to say is without hesitation.

Daniel 3:17 – If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

They told the king that the God of Israel would deliver them out. The God they chose bow to.

Daniel 3:18 - But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

They let him know that in death or in life they would be delivered either way, and they would not serve the false gods of Babylon.

They chose life no matter what end was before them. They chose to bow to the God of creation, the God of love and mercy, the God of Israel and angel armies.

To whom will you bow? Even the unclean spirits know whom to bow to. Mark 3:11 - And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

Why is it so hard for us to do the same? To whom will you bow?
