UT-Tyler releases Spring 2023 President’s Honor Roll

Two University of Texas-Tyler students that call Cass County home were named on UT-Tyler’s Spring 2023 President’s Honor Roll.

On May 11, the university put out a news bulletin recognizing the Spring 2023 President’s Honor Roll, which included two Cass County Students who are both studying at the College of Education and Psychology: Emma Jackson, of Atlanta, Texas Emma Price, of Linden Texas Golden said UT-Tyler offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate programs to 10,000 students, with a mission to improve education and healthcare outcomes for East Texas and beyond.

For Jackson and Price to be recognized for the President’s Honor Roll is no mean feat. According to the media bulletin put out by Beverley Golden, Associate Vice President of media relations, there are some criteria that must be met before being placed on the honor roll.

Golden said to qualify for the President’s Honor Roll, a student must have completed, in one semester, 12 or more semester hours of undergraduate college-level credit with an “A” in all courses.

To be considered for this recognition, a student must qualify as a matriculated student pursuing a first bachelor’s degree, she added.

These distinctions and recognitions are made in the fall and spring semesters.

“UT-Tyler recently merged with The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler–now known as The Health Science Center at UT Tyler,” Golden said. “Through its alignment with The Health Science Center at UT Tyler (HSC) and UT Health East Texas, UT Tyler has unified these entities to serve Texas with quality education, cutting-edge research, and excellent patient care.”

UT-Tyler, which has been classified by Carnegie as a doctoral research institution and by U.S. News and World Report as a national university, has campuses not only in Tyler, but also in Longview, Palestine, and Houston, Texas, Golden said.
