Two arrested in death of Atlanta man

Atlanta Texas Police Chief Greg Restelle confirmed that Atlanta police, and other authorities, are investigating a fatal shooting on Grigsby Street. The family of the victim identified him as DeVatae Robinson, 25, of Atlanta Texas. Two people are now in custody in connection with the shooting death of Robinson.

KSLA first reported “on Sunday, May 5, in the early morning hours, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) responded to a shooting on the 400 block of Grigsby Street. Upon arrival, APD officers discovered a man dead from a gunshot injury.”

“On Tuesday (May 14), Atlanta police an- nounced the arrests of James Tyler Griggs, 23, and Zachary Dylan Grissom, 23, both of Atlanta, Texas. Authorities said numerous agencies helped identify the suspects.

“Griggs is charged with murder, while Grissom is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”

Chief Restelle confirmed that the vehicle involved in the shooting was a Toyota Rav Four. An unidentified witness told the Journal-Sun that it was black and that they believed there was one more suspect in the vehicle, however, Restelle would not confirm that only that two are in custody.

On May 6, a day after the murder, suspect Zach Grissom posted two cryptic posts on Facebook, “If you ain’t with me you against me simple as that.”

On May 8, he posted “I be out the way keep my name out your mouth and get you some money!!” It is unclear whether either of those posts are in reference to the shooting on May 5 or anything related.
