Trunk or Treat to be held
On Sept. 10, the Linden Lion’s Club held their regular meeting. The special guest speaker was Chris Brown, Executive Director of Ark-Tex Council of Governments. Brown spoke about the programs that are covered by ACOG, which include TRAX, the Housing Department, and the Area Agency on Aging, among others. ACOG works with other agencies as well to improve things such as rural transportation planning. He also spoke about the use of TRAX in Cass County and its importance in affording those without transportation the ability to travel to and from appointments and work.
Announcements included the exciting news that Trunk or Treat will be held this year on Oct. 31, along with the pumpkin decorating contest. There will not be a Homecoming Bonfire this year as it is too hot out, but there will be a parade hosted by Linden Together the Thursday before Homecoming. The Lion’s Club also welcomed a new member, Shirley Baker. Baker is also a member of the Linden Garden Club. The Lion’s Club meets each Thursday at noon at the County Seat Café.
