SummerFest is back in 2021

After a year of Covid, normalcy is starting to return as we will once again be able to enjoy the fun, firework-filled SummerFest celebrating Independence Day. The event will be one day earlier though on Saturday, July 3rd from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. If you have never been to a SummerFest event here in Atlanta, Texas you are in for a treat.

According to Miranda Johnson the director of Atlanta City Development Corp. and the president of the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce, it is a fun family friendly community gathering with a picnic feel, “we encourage people to bring their own blankets and camping chairs to sit and enjoy SummerFest and then watch the fireworks. There is a great clear view of Fireworks from SummerFest grounds.

While you are waiting for the fireworks to start, which “will launch at dark and be visible all over town (baring obstructions in the way) you will be treated to live music from three country and rock/pop artists (Colt Williams Band, Lottie Collier, and Heather Harrell). There will also be food vendors on site dishing up some amazing grub. Enjoy a variety of food fares such as Shep’s BBQ, Karmen’s Birria Tacos and Fresh Fruit cups, Etouffee’s Cajun fair, Gelu Italian ice truck, Cotton Candy, Popcorn and MORE!

There will also be retail/craft vendors setup and yard games to play and a Foam Party hosted by Healthcare Express that is free to play.

The local radio station, KPYN, will be streaming a musical soundtrack that syncs with the fireworks show so you can tune in if you are not on site at SummerFest!

The whole deal with SummerFest is that it is a COMMUNITY feel event. It is so much fun to gather with friends and family and watch the Fireworks. We encourage everyone to come out and support this local event.

The location for the event is behind the Atlanta Fire Department at 606 S. Louise Street or as some know it as the old Atlanta football field.

There is no cost for the event with free parking and free admission.

Pyromania Fireworks will be in charge of putting on the fireworks show. They are a professional company out of Bossier City, LA. They are also members of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. They have launched the past three shows.
