Steely to speak in Queen City

Skipper Steely was a newspaper writer, editor and owner half of his life. Steely has been writing, editing, producing and marketing books since 1980. Periodically he produces magazine articles.

Steely graduated from Paris High School in 1964, from East Texas State University with a S.S. in Business/ Journalism in 1968 and a M.S. in Journalism/Business in 1970.

In 1980 Steely began to write and publish books, as well as market books published by others under the name of Wright Press. In 1990 he began to write fulltime and completed several manuscripts on fiction, non-fiction, and biography. The bulk of his work is on history, but books on sports and adventure novels have also come from his keyboard.

Steely will be the guest speaker at the Cass County Genealogical Society meeting at noon on Thursday, Oct. 9, in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Queen City located at the corner of Marietta and Fourth Streets.
