School supply lists,available resources

Although the hot summer sun continues to beat down on Cass County residents, the clock is ticking away for families to find help purchasing much-needed school supplies for their children.

With many struggling just to keep cool, and after having dodged the back-to-back summer storms that plagued the area this past summer month, multiple families may need extra resources available to help purchase school supplies for their kiddos to get back into the swing of the 2023-2024 school year.

Luckily, there are resources available to help out. Saturday, July 29 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., HOPE Ministries will hold their 2nd annual Back 2 School Bash at Linden City Park, across from the elementary school in Linden, Texas.

The free event will have games, music, food, and a bounce house for the kiddos. They will also be giving out free back packs and school supplies, according to nonprofit’s Facebook page, facebook. com/h.o.p.eministry22.

“School is right around the corner like it never ended,” the group posted. “Come out to the 2nd Annual Back 2 School Bash to grab school supplies for your kids and to have a great time. Everything is free, thanks to our donors. Tell a friend, bring a friend and see you there.”

“Lets help local students prepare for a successful school year,” read their flier.

Additionally, First Baptist Church has planned a “Back to School” supply giveaway on August 11 at the FBC Family Life Center, located at 207 W. Allday Street in Atlanta. The giveaway is slated from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

A donation box will be located in front of the church. Anyone hoping to donate to FBC’s giveaway is asked to contact FBC at 903-796-5300.

Anyone interested in donating school supplies to specific schools or might contact their school district’s administration building or school.

Queen City ISD

J.K. Hileman Elementary, Morris Upchurch Middle School and Queen City High School have supply lists available on their website at qcisd.net listed under PDF files, as well as on their Facebook page, facebook.com/QueenCityISD.

Linden-Kildare CISD Elementary and Junior High supply lists are available on their official website under Parent/Student resources at lkcisd.net/ and on their Official Facebook page at facebook.com/LindenKildareCISD.

Bloomburg ISD

K-8 has school supplies lists on their Website, bloomburgisd.net. There are also Amazon Wishlists posted there for those who would like to help out teachers as they help out your students.

Atlanta ISD

Primary, Elementary and Middle School supply lists are available on their Website, atlisd.net.

Hughes Springs ISD

Elementary and Junior High school supply lists can be found at hsisd.net.

McLeod ISD

You can find links to varying elementary classroom supply lists as well as a middle school supply list by visiting mcleodisd.net before clicking the ‘For Parents’ tab and then the tab labeled ‘Supply List’

Avinger ISD

Search ‘supplies’ in the searchbar on their official Website, avingerisd.net to get a list of school supplies needed to get your kiddos started off for the 2023-2024 school year.

*Editor’s note: In some school districts, supplies for high school students may vary by teacher or course, therefore there may not be a list posted for some. High school students without a supply list may receive one on the first day back to school.
