Robert Preston O’Neal Bobo

Robert Preston O’Neal Bobo was born 23 February1883. He was born and raised in the Knights Bluff community, son of James Williams and Pannelia Angeline TRIMBLE Bobo. He married Maudie Mae Rutherford 06 February 1904. She was born 08 July 1888.

Nealy and Maudie Bobo were farmers, ran a grocery store in the Blaylock community, had a chicken house and sold eggs to hatcheries. He also delivered ice by pickup out of Atlanta to people in the eastern part of Cass County for as long as I can remember.

He was a very gentle man, soft spoken and jolly most all the time. He would always be ready to help and aid anyone in need. He was loved by all, and I still miss him. He was a diabetic and died with heart failure. Nealy and Maudie lived together for many years after they married. I know she died of a broken heart instead of a heart attack, just six months after PAP A died. She lived to fish, piece quilts and put puzzles together. Whatever papa was doing she was always there to lend a hand. She loved him, her church, and her children. Together they raised five children. They had two or three other children to die at birth.

Nealy and Maudie were parents of:

Edna Lena born 25 June 1906 and died 29 October 1991 in Bossier City, La. She married Felton Alexander Griffin. He was born 29 July 1907 and died 28 December 1975. They are buried in the Antioch Cemetery. Their children are Dorothy Dell and Robert Dale. Dorothy married Lloyd Still, and Robert married Janie Stout.

2. Ervin Henry born 18 August 1908 and died 30 November 1996. He married Jennie C. Duke. She was born 05 June 1911 and died 26 February 1997. They are buried in Pine Crest Cemetery, in Atlanta, Texas. They are the parents of (1) Rubalee R. born 16 February 1928 and died 15 February 1978, never married. o) Mozelle born 03 September 1932, she married Hugh C. Griffin, born 04 May 1927, and died 03 May 1999. (3) Vernell born 03 September 1932, she married R. L. Minnick, born 16 January 1925, and died 26 February 1997. Ernelle born and died abt. 1909.

Daisy Dolly Lurene born 30 May 1910 and died 19 June 1982. She married Clarence Walter Dupree 24 November 1928. He was born 28 June 1907 and died 21 January 1984. They are buried in the Antioch Cemetery. They are the parents of (1) Gerald Dean, born 11 Dec. 1929 and died 23 Mar 1984. He married Betty Jean Parker. (2) Mary Lazelle (Polly) born 26 November 1933. She married James Foster. (3) Edwin Oneal born 27 December 1935 and died 25 October 1952 and is buried in Antioch Cemetery. (4) Waylon Ervin born 05 October 1938 and died 18 November 1992. He married 1st Anita Gaile Griffin, 2nd Delfina Rodrigues and 3rd Elizabeth Elaine Smith. cs) Tommy Lewis born 03 April 1941. He married 1st Nettie Jane Tully, 2nd Judy Diane Burton and 3rd Debra Ann Manning. (6) Linda Avanelle born 11 March 1945. She married James Henry Leslie 20 October 1962. (7) Rodney Gale born 18 January 1949. He married 1st Terri Carter and 2nd Zona A. LaPoint.

Mozelle born and died in 1911.

Eleanor Earlene born 25 March 1913 and died 02 Dec 1944. She married Ernest McCasland. He was born 20 December 1912 and died 16 July 1973. He is buried with his second wife in the Antioch Cemetery. There was five children to this marriage; (I) William Wayne born 11 Jul 1931 and died in Korea 01 September 1950. He is buried in Antioch Cemetery. o) James Earnest born November 1934. He married Louise Coats. 3 Harold Lloyd born 24 January 1937. He married 1st Merle Marie Plum and 2nd Carol.

Little Sudde born and died in 1938. &) Mary Marguerite bom 13 December 1939. She married Jerry Lee Thacker.

7. Sylvia Alice Morene born 25 March 1918 and died 02 October 2001. She married William Albert Wilson, Jr. 03 September 1932. He Was born 13 February 1913. He died 09 December 1988 and is buried in Mesquite, Texas. There were three daughters born to this marriage: (I) Madgie Lou born 24 October 1934. She married 1st Gerald Stovall 01 November 1952. He was born 05 Nov 1932 and died 12 December 1997. She married 2nd to Bernie Zimmer, (2) Ferrie Lanell born 26 September 1940. She married Vernon Wilson Jester 30 September 1959. He was born 23 April 1940. (3) Barbara Ellen born 09 June 1944. She married Raymond Ford, born abt. 1944.
