Richardson’s donate to Christmas Store

There are two weeks left in this month and Christmas is 67 days away as of this article.

That number will surely melt away quickly and the holiday season will be upon us.

During the next two months people will scour the internet and stores for gift ideas with family and friends in mind but let’s not forget the less fortunate.

It’s sad that most people only think of the less fortunate around Christmastime but it’s a daily struggle throughout the year for most.

Even in the most troubling of years Jerry and Cheryl Richardson, of Richardson No Bull Insurance, are thinking ahead.

The Richardson’s are always helping those in need where they can in the community. Whether it is school donations or fan drives during the summer the Richardson’s desire to help has a lasting effect.

Just last week Jerry and Cheryl donated toys, bikes and gave $500 to put towards other items in Mission Texarkana’s Christmas Store.

As most know there are several entities who provide toys to children during Christmas who have been displaced, lost their homes due to fire or have fallen on bad times because their parents have lost their jobs for one reason or another.

Mission Texarkana Executive Direcotr Cody Howard said that the aim of the Christmas Store is to target families who struggle from paycheck to paycheck.

“We want to be helpful to people who struggle and live from paycheck to paycheck. The lower to middle class families,” Howard said.

In some cases for children to receive gifts you have to fill out paper work and some of those families who make money don’t receive that help because they make more than required.

That’s why Howard put the Christmas Store in motion.

“I would like to thank Jerry and Cheryl Richardson of Richardson No Bull Insurance Agency Inc. for their donations. Their gifts will empower families to provide for their families this Christmas season,” Howard remarked.

Jerry said that he would like to challenge other businesses in the area to help as well.

Time will rush by as it usually does so if you are interested in shopping at the Mission Texarkana store this year, please fill out an application between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at 620 W. 4th Street Texarkana, Texas or send an email to amarcum@tfci.org.
