About Red River Quilters
Red River Quilters are celebration their 40th anniversary this year. The guild was formed in 1983, with the mission to promote the appreciation and preservation of quilts, to encourage the art itself, to foster charitable endeavors with quilting, and to provide a forum in which quilters and quilt lovers might share their common interest in the craft. Our annual quilt show is one way we share the art of quilting with the public.
We enjoy using our craft to fill many needs in our community. We make hundreds of small quilts yearly that we deliver to local hospitals to distribute to young patients. We make hundreds of “comfort caps” similar to a scrubs cap for cancer patients who have lost their hair. We provide very basic covers to the Volunteer Network to have as a first cover when they go to disasters. We made thousands of washable cloth masks for anyone who needed one including first responders and medical facilities when they reopened.
