Ransom announces re-election campaign
Cass County Judge Travis Ransom announced on Nov. 8 via Facebook that he will seek a second term as Cass County Judge.
“There is still work to do but we are headed in the right direction,” Ransom said. “I remain committed to responsible leadership, transparency in government and preserving our rural way of life and values. It is an honor to serve you and I would be grateful for your continued support and prayers.” Ransom, who has served as Mayor of Atlanta, is the current 2nd Vice District Governor for Lions Clubs District 2-X2 in Texas and most recently selected to serve as the next Senior Enlisted Leader for the Military Intelligence Readiness Command (MIRC), has had quite a lot of positives in his first term.
“During my first term, we have improved county finances with clean audits and strong reserves — without raising the tax rate, increased support for Road & Bridge, including a new $4 million Transportation Trust Fund, raised salaries and strengthened retention across county departments, including support for law enforcement through SB22 grant funding, opened a full-time Veterans Service Office and secured over $1,350,000 in grants to support Cass County veterans, expanded rural broadband, with over 800 linear miles of fiber installed, reaching more than 8,000 homes, and we have continued to stand firm in protecting private property rights, especially in the fight against the proposed Marvin Nichols Reservoir,” Ransom added.
