Rabbits bow out of season with 30-14 loss to Winnsboro

After a hard-fought season, Atlanta’s time in the playoffs has come to a close after losing to Winnsboro with a score of 30 – 14.

Winnsboro played a good game against the Rabbits, with Atlanta only managing to score two touchdowns in the second quarter, leaving their final record at 5-6.

First Quarter

Winnsboro scored the first and only touchdown of the first quarter, followed by a successful attempt at an extra point, making the score 7 – 0.

Second Quarter

Not long into the quarter, Jayden Riley scored a touchdown on a 1-yard rush, with a successful extra point from Haruto Tamito, bringing the score to 7 – 7. Winnsboro then took their lead back with another touchdown and extra point of their own, making the score 14 – 7.

The Rabbits tied the score one last time, with Peyton Harrison scoring a touchdown on a 25yard rush, with Tamito scoring another extra point, leaving the final score of the second quarter 14 – 14.

Third Quarter

Winnsboro had a strong third quarter, with them scoring a total of both two touchdowns and two successful extra points, bringing the score to 28 – 14.

Fourth Quarter

Atlanta was able to put up enough of a defense to prevent Winnsboro from keeping their momentum from the third quarter, but with no points scored by the Rabbits, the safety scored by Winnsboro was just the extra points needed to bring the score to 30 – 14.

On the season, Harrison finished with 2,039 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and only three picks. He also ran for 101 yards and scored three TDs. Harrison set plenty of new school records this season.

Markeylin Batton led all rushers with 610 yards and nine scores, Jamarion Austin added 421 yards and three touchdowns, Jayden Riley had 131 yards on the ground with four scores and Marshawn Woodberry had 130 yards rushing.

Riley, another record-breaking player, pulled in 938 receiving yards with 12 touchdowns, Batton added 255 with four scores, Marquavion Owens had 240 yards receiving with four TDs, Braylyn Rowe had 220 yards receiving with five TDs and Jalarrion Andrews posted 171 yards receiving with two scores.

Defensively, Dimoree Limbrick led the way with 78 tackles; 62 of those were solo tackles. Owens added 43 tackles of his own, Carmello Henderson had 52, Andrews 39, Brady Partain 38 and Woodberry 39.
