Quilters make donation to CCESD#1

On Sept. 7, the Truck Stop Quilting Club made a $2,000 donation to Cass County Emergency Services District #1 to assist with the purchase of new bunker gear for the district’s volunteer fighters.
The club members are Carolyn Berry, Helen Deel, Betty Frost, Myrlene McCathran, Donna Wylie and Annie Moore. The group is now disbanding due to health issues but wanted to make a gift that would benefit others in their community.
Over the years this same group has donated many, many bottles of water and Gator-aid. Recently they presented the district with an automated external defibrillator to be used to help firefighters who are called out on medical emergencies. The district is very grateful for their support over these past years.
