Queen City student leaders attend conference in Pittsburg

On Monday, Jan. 9, eight student leaders from QCHS attended a Student Leadership Conference at the Region 8 Service Center.

Todd Nelsoney was the keynote speaker for the conference. He spoke about being authentic, humble, and real as a leader.

Breakout sessions included Amber Carroll, Leadership Research Specialist from the University of the Cumberlands, Williamsburg, Kentucky who spoke on “Metacognition in Leadership”, Chey-Anne Harris, MSN, RNC-OB, C_ONQC- Titus Regional Medical Center who spoke on “Leader in your Workspace” and Esther Banegas, Sr Director of Digital, Marketing Operations and Analytics, DataBank - Dallas who spoke on ‘Leading Authentically. Mr. Nelsoney also had a session called “Own Your Own Story” Students gained valuable knowledge and skills to bring back to their campus and began developing a network with other student leaders in districts across the region.
