Queen City man drowns at Atlanta State Park

A Queen City man drowned at Atlanta State Park while canoeing in the early morning hours on Friday, Aug. 28.

Texas Game Wardens and Cass County deputies were called at approximately 2 a.m. regarding a drowning at Atlanta State Park.

Authorities said that 26-year-old Colton Clemenson and another person fell into the water from their overturned canoe. Neither person was wearing a life jacket.

Clemenson drowned, according to authorities, but the other person was able to float to shore. Authorities say that alcohol is believed to be a factor.

An autopsy will be performed.
