Queen City High School student Clare Wong competed in the 27th annual James Herrin Piano Festival on Saturday, Nov. 12, held at Texarkana College.
The High School piano competitive event is open to students in grades 9-12 who are studying with an active member of the Texarkana Music Teachers Association.
Clare won first place in her category by performing the following two pieces from different style periods: Sonata Hob.XVI:4 Moderato by Franz Joseph Haydn and Song of the Lark Op.39, No.22 by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
