Police pursuit spans through four counties
On Sunday at approximately 5:00 p.m. Quantrail Parker of St. Louis Missouri, led police on a wild ride Sunday starting in Panola County when police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on his red BMW after he was seen going 20mph over the posted speed limit.
Witnesses in Atlanta, saw the chase move through downtown.
According to reports deputies pursued his vehicle as speed limits increased past 100 mph and began weaving in and out of traffic. DPS joined the pursuit when it crossed into Harrison County on HWY 59N. Spike strips were deployed in Marshall as well as Jefferson, TX but Parker was able to avoid hitting them. Panola County units disengaged from the chase at the Marion/Cass County line.
More strips were deployed near Linden, TX. Parker ran over these strips but still continued to flee. Parker crashed at the intersection of FM 249 and County Road 4809 where he attempted to flee and was quickly detained.
KTEK said the chase originally started “on Sunday around 4:56 p.m., Panola County deputies Matthew Mitchell and Jesus Martinez were patrolling Loop 436 when they reportedly saw a red BMW passenger car pass them going roughly 80 mph in a 60 mph zone.
When the deputies turned on their emergency lights, the driver reportedly took the Highway 59N exit ramp at 65 mph and ran the stop sign before continuing onto Highway 59N.
Parker was eventually taken to Cass County Detention Center.
