November Election Voting Begins
On the heels of Rowe VS Wade being overturned, the rumblings of recession, and a heightened political atmosphere, this midterm election has the potential for high voter turnout. There are races in Texas that will affect the Federal government’s makeup this November. In addition, if you live in the Linden- Kildare area there are three L-K CISD Trustees up for vote and if you live in certain areas of Cass County you will be voting on the creation of the Assistance District 1, along with a sales tax for its creation. Within this newspaper, we have included a list of polling places and election dates and times.
Early Voting runs October24-28 and October 31- November 4. from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. October 25 and November 1 Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Voting by Male can only be received no later by the close of business on October 28.
First, for the United States Representative, District No. 1 Nathaniel Moran, Republican will face Jrmar (JJ) Jefferson, Democratic. For Governor incumbent Greg Abbott, Republican will face Beto O’Rourke, Democratic; Mark Tippetts, Libertarian; and Delilah Barrios, Green Party. For Lieutenant Governor, Incumbent Dan Patrick, Republican will face Mike Collier, Democratic, and Shanna Steele, Libertarian.
For the Attorney General office incumbent Ken Paxton, Republican will face Rochefle Mercedes Garza, Democratic, and Mark Ash Libertarian. Comptroller of Public Accounts, Glenn Hegar, Republican, will face Janet T. Dudding, Democratic, and V. Alonzo Echevarria-Garza, Libertarian.
For Commissioner of the General Land Office, Dawn Buckingham, Republican will face Jay Kleberg, Democratic, and Alfred Malison, Jr., Green.
Commissioner of Agriculture, Sid Miller Republican, will face Susan Hays, Democratic. For Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian, Republican will face Luke Warford Democratic; Jaime Andres Diez, Libertarian; and Hunter Wayne Crow Green Party.
For Justice, Supreme Court. Place 3 Debra Lehrmann, Republican, will face Erin A. Nowell, Democratic, and Thomas Edward Oxford, Libertarian. For Justice, Supreme Court. Place 5, Rebeca Huddle, Republican, will face Amanda Reichek, Democratic. For Justice, Supreme Court, Place 9 Evan Young, Republican, will face Julia Maldonado, Democratic. For Judge Court of Criminal Appeals Place 5, Scott Walker, Republican, will face Dana Huffman, Democratic. For Judge Court of Criminal Appeals Place 6, Jesse F. Mc-Clure III, Republican will face Robert Johnson, Democratic.
Locally, Linden-Kildare CISD Trustee Place 5, Robby Johnson will face Curtis Ray Harrison Jr. For Linden-Kildare CISD Trustee Place 6, Shun Mitchell will face Toby L Fuller. For Linden-Kildare CISD Trustee Place 7, Tanya Bond will run uncontested.
(Only for some parts of Cass County) Cass County Assistance District Number 1: Authorizing the creation of the Assistance District 1 and the imposition of a sales and use tax at the rate of 1.75 percent for the purpose of financing the operations of the district. Yes or No.
